Surrounded By The Songs Of Rejoicing

"This is the day the lord has made;I will rejoice and be
glad in it."
What a refreshing, reminder this is! I remember many times, Mom would walk through our house in the early morning, singing songs of praise and triumph. Perhaps it was in a effort to get her sleepy-headed kids awake! But is also set an important tone for our day--to wake up with songs of rejoicing.
And this is a good reminder to me today. June was a very,very busy month for our family.If you've been following this blog, you will know what I am talking about. And I wasn't even able to post all of it! Squeezed between the blogged pictures were picking green beans and stuff, hour of garden work, sewing my project,this month a birthday for my Dad and brother,cooking, going places, and housework.
There are times of schedules and activitys.. Perhaps that's why Mom's cherry good mornings are a blessing to me. Reminding me to take time to just sit simply at Jesus' feet and praise him. To take a break from all the 'doing' and make time to fellowship with him. Starting my day with praise is a refreshing way to set the focus for each day.
Have you made time to praise him today? To give him a heart of worship.
This is my desire!
"Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker."
Psalm 95:6

Thought For Today...

God hath not promised skies always blue,
Flower strewn pathways all our lifes through;
God hath not promised sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow, peace without pain.

God hath not promised we shall not know
Toil and temptation, trouble and woe;
He hath not told us we shall not bear
Many a burden, many a care.

God hath not promised smooth roads and wide,
Swift, easy travel, needing no guide;
Never a mountain rocky and steep,
Never a river turbid and deep.

But God hath promised strength for the day,
Rest for the labour, light for the way,
Grace for the trials,help from above,
Unfailing sympathy, undying love.
